We take a look of the iconic Y columns going up

Our latest teaser from the ABN AMRO headquarters renovation in Amsterdam shows the assembly of the iconic Y columns –  engineered and CNC-produced at our Roth facility in Burgdorf, Switzerland, and delivered to site according to the design request of our client Royal Bam Group.

The numbers speak for themselves:

  • 15 Y columns / 31 pieces
  • 5’000 kg each
  • 148 m³ of glulam
  • Special trailer transport in 14 m length elements
  • Longest elements delivered to the site - nearly 24m in the main atrium

This is part of an 8,000 m³ timber structure – 5,000 m³ glulam + 3,000 m³ CLT – added to what is currently the Netherlands' largest office construction project. Four light-filled atrium halls, 30,000 m² of new structure, and a full commitment to sustainable, low-emission construction by client ABN AMRO, developer EDGE, and architect Broekbakema.
