New mock-up for façade design of a superstructure: focus on aesthetics and sound insulation

For a current construction project, a mock-up was developed for the façade design that meets both aesthetic demands and the high requirements for sound insulation.

The aim of the project was to create a model that realistically represents the planned façade and at the same time tests the functionality of the individual components under different conditions.

A key aspect of the mock-up is the simulation of the effects of weather on the materials used. Various types of weather protection for the wood were tested as part of the project in order to find the best possible solution. The focus was not only on the long-term durability of the materials, but also on their visual effect.

The mock-up enabled the project participants to make informed decisions about the final façade design, which met the aesthetic requirements as well as the functional and technical challenges. By combining design and technical precision, the mock-up provides a reliable basis for the realization of the superstructure.
