Arena for a Tree at the National Museum in Zurich

The Arena for a Tree goes on the road again.

Our assembly team has brought the Arena out of hibernation and installed it in time for the start of the new exhibition "In the Forest. A Cultural History" on 18.03.2022 in the inner courtyard of the National Museum Zurich.

The exhibit with a height of eight metres and a diameter of twelve metres offers seating for 50 people.

The irregular shape and structure of the individual slats that form the outer mesh is modelled on the appearance of a tree. Together with the seating that runs inside the shell, the slats symbolically map the annual rings - the life span of a tree.

The walk-in art intervention by Klaus Littman, supported by the Basel H. Geiger Cultural Foundation | KBH.G can be viewed independently of the exhibition "In the Forest. A Cultural History" exhibition until 8.5.22.
