Completion of construction work for Rynetel wildlife overpass in Suhr
Construction work for the new wildlife overpass over the A1 near Suhr has been underway since January this year. In the night from 13 to 14 September, our fitters were on the last of a total of fifteen night operations and were able to complete the main work. They needed a total of 15 nights, during each of which one lane was completely closed to traffic, to assemble the entire wooden construction. After the arched trusses had been installed across the freeway, the entire construction was covered with laminated veneer panels. In the next few days, there is still some minor work to be done, such as filling cavities and nailing down the panels. After that, our timber construction work will be completed. Here are a few impressive figures about the project:
-640m3 glulam
-156 arched trusses
-15 minutes assembly time per truss
-Weight per truss approx. 1.6 tons
-2150m2 laminated veneer panels
-200'000 nails for fastening the laminated veneer panels
-22'000 screws for the screw connection of the secondary structure
The entire assembly went exemplary and smoothly and can be completed a few days earlier than planned. A big compliment to the whole team for the work done!
