

Groundbreaking event for "Park auf der Egg" development in Frenkendorf
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Park auf der Egg project in Frenkendorf BL took place at the beginning of September. Häring is building this for an investor and a private client and includes two apartment buildings and a single-family house to the Minergie standard as well as a shared underground garage. The architectural design is deliberately reduced, Japanese-ascetic and combines traditional Far Eastern construction methods with the modern principles of timber system construction. The structural elements in contact with the ground and the staircase and access cores are conventionally built in concrete/masonry. The free-standing exterior walls, all interior walls, ceilings and roofs are realized in sustainable timber system construction. Ecological and pollutant-free building materials are used. Compared to conventional buildings, a CO2 saving of approx. 35% is achieved and the construction time is halved. Heating is provided by renewable geothermal energy.
Near-natural and park-like surrounding areas
The open spaces and recreational areas are designed to be close to nature and, like the planned building structure, are grouped around the valuable old tree population. A koi pond is planned in the southern part of the site. The tree-rich parcel will be largely preserved as a natural park and the existing large single-family house will be demolished. A new detached single-family home (with 2 apartments) and two apartment buildings with 8 and 10 units, respectively, will be built. The three buildings will have a common underground parking garage. The residential units and the outdoor facilities are free of thresholds and age-appropriate. The 18 rental apartments are spacious, with views and terraces in a park setting. Completion of the entire project is scheduled for the end of September 2022.
