New Burg school building in Liestal

The construction work on the Burg school building in Liestal has been completed. The new premises could be moved into and furnished during the summer holidays and regular school lessons have been taking place there since 10 August. The building, constructed in timber modules, consists of a total of 36 modules, each weighing about 8 tonnes, and houses 11 classrooms, 4 group rooms and a common room for pupils. The wooden facade is made of native white fir from Baselland. The service life is designed until a long-term renovation of the entire facility is necessary. The chosen construction in sustainable timber modules led to a short construction time and allows the modules to be repurposed should the demands and needs for the premises change in the coming years.
