New McDonald’s branch in Hendschiken

The construction of the new McDonald’s in Hendschiken began in early December with the drilling of geothermal probes. The end result will be a two-storey building made of sustainable wood modules and with dimensions of 28.5 x 12.8 meters and a height of approximately 7.7 meters. The project was developed by Frey Architekten AG in Olten and is designed to be a “Green Concept Store”. Our tasks as the general contractor include a significant part of the building envelope, wall and façade cladding, steel work, the construction of a canopy terrace, and a variety of interior fittings in the staff area. We are using approximately 90 m3 of glue-laminate timber, 25 tons of steel, 2100 m2 of wood-based panels, 280 m2 of interior cladding and 1300 m2 of façade/canopy cladding, among other materials.

As of this week, we have been manufacturing the required wooden elements in Eiken. In early March, we will erect the timber construction, while also manufacturing additional fittings such as stairs, windows, doors and drive switches. This will be followed by the complete canopy and façade cladding from mid-March to late April. The installation of all technical and electrical systems within the building will be carried out simultaneously from mid-March.

The new McDonald’s branch is scheduled to open on 3 June of this year, alongside the Coop petrol station planned on the same site.
