The art of timber construction meets sustainability - our collaboration with Preserve Life

Our collaboration with Preserve Life began with two projects designed by Kengo Kuma: the Lodge and the Wellness Center in Atlanta. We are proud to be part of this exceptional project, which is characterized by innovative timber construction solutions and a strong commitment to sustainability.

Focus on the lodge
The lodge had top priority in the initial phase. In addition to the timber construction planning, we also took over the production and assembly supervision. The process began with the delivery of a 1:1 sample unit, which served as the basis for the next steps. We are now continuing with the production and assembly of a total of 52 units.

The project comprises around 1,500 m³ of glulam and cross-laminated timber. The production models will be prepared in January and February 2025 before the next construction phases begin.

Progress on the wellness center
The wellness center is in the final design phase and we are currently finalizing the timber construction planning. Preparations for production will start in March 2025. This impressive building consists of a basement, a first floor and an upper floor. The timber construction starts at first floor level and extends over a length of approx. 300 meters with a span of 30 meters.

A total of around 2,200 m³ of glulam and cross-laminated timber is used. The design harmoniously integrates the structure into the surrounding forest landscape, creating a natural, relaxing atmosphere that impressively underlines the vision of “Preserve Life” by the design team Kengo Kuma Architects.

Focus on sustainability
All timber construction products used are 100% PEFC-certified. This ensures that the project is not only aesthetically and functionally outstanding, but also makes an important contribution to sustainability.
