Project competition “Weiden elementary school” in Rapperswil-Jona: successful third place for team BALANCE
The city of Rapperswil-Jona is planning to extend the existing Weiden elementary school with a new building for eight classes, including childcare, and to construct another new building on the same site for a kindergarten with two groups.
Together with Skop Architektur (Basil Spiess and Martin Zimmerli) and the engineering firm Pirmin Jung (Andreas Zweifel), we took part in the overall performance competition for the project.
After pre-qualification, we competed against five other teams and were able to secure third place with our “BALANCE” concept.
Our “BALANCE” design envisages a harmonious extension to the school campus that impresses with its sustainable construction and innovative spatial concepts. The new building is carefully integrated into its surroundings and relies on a clear timber construction for a healthy, future-oriented learning environment.
We are delighted with the successful placement and the opportunity to have contributed to the development of Rapperswil-Jona as an educational location with our team.
