Visitors from Iran
Last week, guests from Iran visited Häring: they were interested in finding out more about the dome solution and toured the Saldome in Rheinfelden.
A wide variety of industries can benefit from the storage efficiency of the Häring-Ensphere domes. In cement factories, for example, raw materials have to be kept dry during most of the production process, which makes the dome construction very useful, especially during the mixing process. Raw material storage facilities for lime and coal also benefit from the capacity of dome construction. During the mixing processes, the dome building is excellent for the use of circular conveying systems and circular recovery systems, which improves the quality of the mixture. In addition, the Kuppelbau can also be used for the storage of slag, fly ash or gypsum in subsequent process stages.
The structure and architecture of dome buildings is modelled on nature and perfected by subtle engineering techniques. The Häring-Ensphere dome construction concept is the perfect solution when it comes to efficiently and cost-effectively roofing even large areas with diameters of over 120 m using the sustainable raw material wood. The dome construction system offers a unique solution for the bulk material industry. In addition to the aesthetic appearance of the construction, the potential free span of the dome construction system of up to approx. 200 m meets the requirements on a large industrial scale. Customers benefit threefold from the maximum volume-per-square-metre ratio, optimised logistics and minimal maintenance requirements.
Dome structures combine the largest possible storage capacity per square metre with great ease of transport. The reduction in civil engineering effort achieved by shallow foundations, elimination of walls and the high-precision timber construction of the dome building enables rapid assembly on site at the customer's premises. In addition, the system provides sufficient clear width for commercial vehicles and conveyor retrieval systems needed for all kinds of handling operations to meet capacity requirements. Glued laminated timber beams are proven to be resistant to saline environments. The non-corrosive properties of wood guarantee minimal maintenance, which means that the wooden beams are not only completely maintenance-free indoors, but - with the appropriate protection - also outdoors.
