The living concept of the future in Stampfenbachstrasse in Zurich

On Stampfenbachstrasse in Zurich, not far from the ETH, a 5-story wooden building was created using a prefabricated construction method, which attracts attention with its innovative floor plans and unusual design. Visible CLT panels and ceilings, along with sliding interior walls, give the apartments a purist character and allow individual living in a small space.

The new building with a total of 30 apartments was realized as a timber construction. We implemented the assembly and partly the production of the exterior and interior walls as well as the entire roof construction. The roof construction was realized with timber frame elements, the interior and exterior walls with CLT panels.

The special feature: this is the first residential building in Switzerland where the complete supporting structure, a total of 3700 m2, was made of CLT panels.

The extremely tight space conditions between the rows of houses in the urban area presented a major challenge. This required highly concentrated work during the unloading of the prefabricated elements as well as their erection, which was mastered with ease thanks to our well-coordinated team on site.
